Well that explains a lot

People often ask me where my name came from. Is it a family name? Am I named after anyone? Is it short for anything? Is it a nickname? Does it mean something in a foreign language? Are my parents musical? (That one always means that they think my name has an R in it--Treble instead of Teble). Are my parents artists? (That's a nice way of asking if my parents are weird, tripped out druggies.)

I usually tell them that my name was derived from the fact that my parents dropped WAY too much acid in the sixties. Now I have clinical proof.

This was the number one song on the Billboard chart the day I was born:

"Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" by The Fifth Dimension

Enough said.

I guess I should be glad they didn't name me Aquarius. Or Sunshine. Or Harmony Granola Moonflower.

Go here to find out what the number one song was when you were born and tell me all about it in the comments.

I have told you before I didn't do drugs until AFTER I had kids. I didn't need them before! You were named Teble because Nanny had bad speakers on her TV. We thought the girls name on a made-for-TV movie, "Then Came Bronson", was Teble, but it was Temple. Aren't you glad we heard wrong you could have been named after little Shirley Temple.
My song for March 5, 1952 is "Cry" by Johnnie Ray & the Four Lads. Maybe that is why I can cry at a commercial and any bad movie!

The Sound of Philidelphia?? I've never heard of this song and when I click on it, my computer won't play it. Anyway, mine is 1974. I know that another top hit that year was I shot the sherrif by Eric Clapton. :) You know I love him.

Hey, Harmony Granola Moonflower does have a certain something... I love that you're Teble. I've never met anyone else with that name and do feel that you're one of a kind *g*

I am cracking up because as it turns out the #1 song when I was born was Rock Me Gently, which my five year old have been listening to incessantly on the iPod because we both absolutely love the Jeep Liberty commercial with the singing animals (and adorable driver) and can't get the song out of our heads.

It's taken me 39 years to grow into my name, but I love it too. I just hate explaining it and spelling it.

I love me some Clapton, too.

Mom, if you search for "Then Came Bronson" on YouTube you can watch the pilot. That Parks dude (Bronson) was kind of a hottie. And check out Bonnie Bedelia, who played my namesake, Temple Brooks. Click on part 9 out of 10 on the pilot to see her sexing up the place with her hot legs when she falls in the water. Shame I didn't get those legs to go with the name.

You Always Hurt the One You Love by the Mills Brothers. Who knew it would be prophetic?

I remember Michael Parks on Bronson but I don't remember Temple. I'll have to go look at the pilot. Thanks for the link.

I don't have more to add; I just want to see if Izzy's picture will show up! Isn't she cute in her boat?

I didn't like my name when I was younger. Plus, I'm not born in April which is like THE #1 question I'm asked. AND I look like a moron saying no. I like it now. People always assume I'm blonde before they meet me though. I don't know why. Maybe an experience they've had with an April before.

Anyway, #1 song when I was born - 1975 ... "Sister Golden Hair" by America. I believe Captain and Tenille was #1 that year though. A local radio station played Love Will Keep Us Together for my birthday one year. :)

1969 ... "Love Theme from 'Romeo and Juliet'" by Henry Mancini

Has no relevance *heh*
